Surah Muzammil In English

  1. O, you wrapped in your blanket!
  2.  Pray during the night, except for a little portion of it.
  3.  Half the night, or a bit less, or a bit more.
  4.  Recite the Quran in a clear and measured tone.
  5.  We’ll give you a heavy responsibility.
  6.  The nighttime is the best for thoughtful reading and reflection.
  7.  Your daytime is filled with many tasks.
  8.  Remember your Lord’s name and give yourself to Him wholeheartedly.
  9.  He’s the Lord of all directions; there’s no one else like Him. Depend on Him.
  10.  Endure what they say with patience and kindness.
  11.  Leave those who deny the truth to Me; they live in luxury for a little while.
  12.  They’ll face chains, fire, choking food, and painful punishment.
  13.  On the Day, the earth and mountains shake like scattered sand.
  14.  We’ve sent you a Messenger, just as We sent one to Pharaoh.
  15.  But Pharaoh rejected the messenger and faced destruction.
  16.  So, how can you fear if you disbelieve? A day is coming when people will turn grey from fear.
  17.  The sky will break apart, just as promised.
  18.  This is a reminder. Whoever wants can find a way to their Lord.
  19.  Your Lord knows that you pray for nearly two-thirds of the night, half of it, or slightly less. Some of your followers do this, too. Allah decides the lengths of Day and night.
  20.  Allah knows you can only sometimes pray for so long. So, read what you can of the Quran, pray, give to those in need, and lend to Allah a good loan. What good you do, you’ll find with Allah. It’s better and earns a greater reward. And ask Allah’s forgiveness. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
